As I was trying to figure out what posts I should do I saw that a lot of people have been doing the best books that they read and their biggest disappointments for 2018. So that looked like a good idea to me. I picked the top 5 that stood out to me when I looked back over what I read last year. and here are the 5 most disappointing books that I read in no particular order. Sadly these are not the only books that I was disappointed in this year but the 5 that stood out the most when I looked back on what I read.

Aw, I really like Children of Blood and Bone, but I can totally understand why it’s not for everyone. It’s super tropey and the romance portion of it really didn’t work for me.

It was the romance and the characters that killed it for me. I really liked the setting just not enough to move on with the series.

I did not like the characters and I really did not like the romance. However I did like the setting.

I agree with The Cruel Prince, but I loved Children Of Blood And Bone. Why was it disappointing for you?

The Cruel Prince was so hyped and I think that is what killed it for me. Children of Blood and Bone it was the characters and the romance that I didn’t like. I did like the setting but not enough to outway my dislike for the characters.

Wow. Some really raved about books here. I haven’t read any of them yet, but I do plan on getting into a few of them. Sorry they didn’t live up to your expectations.

I think for the most part the Hype killed them. Expecially Cruel Prince I expected this epic fae story and it just was not there.

I actually liked The Cruel Prince even though I expected more from the romance. The world just sucked me n from the beginning.

I’m not surprised Pride and Prejudice and Mistletoe is on your list! It was one of my two most disappointing reads last year. Sorry you did’t like The Cruel Prince! I really liked it ❤

Mi kept my copy just in case I ever want to try again. I think I expected too much from it due to the hype.
