Good Afternoon,
It’s Monday! What are you Reading is hosted by Kathryn from Book Date, this is a weekly event to share what we’ve read in the past week and what we hope to read, plus whatever else comes to mind.
I did not get a Monday post up last week due to spending the whole weekend with a headache, I really wish the weather here would make up its mind. So I have combined that week’s reads with this week’s reads. This week is going to be crazy because I am starting a new full time job! Since this means that I will be going back to having 2 jobs, I am only going to focus on trying to get one book read.
Books I have Finished Recently

The Queen of Izmoroz by Jon Skovron | (The Goddess War #2) | Fantasy | Add to Goodreads
Sonya has brought a foreign army to free her country from imperial rule, but her allies may have other goals in the second book of this thrilling epic fantasy trilogy from Jon Skovron.
The first battle is over, but war yet looms on the horizon. Sonya and her allies–the foreign Uaine and their armies of the undead–have beaten back the imperial soldiers from the capital city. Now they have the rest of the country to free.
Meanwhile, her brother the famed wizard Sebastian has retreated with the imperial forces to regroup and lick his wounds. Betrayed by his sister and his wife, the beautiful noblewoman Galina, he will regain control of his life and his country at any cost.
The Justice of Kings by Richard Swan | (Empire of the Wolf #1) | Fantasy | Add to Goodreads
As an Emperor’s Justice, Sir Konrad Vonvalt always has the last word. His duty is to uphold the law of the empire using whatever tools he has at his disposal: whether it’s his blade, the arcane secrets passed down from Justice to Justice, or his wealth of knowledge of the laws of the empire. But usually his reputation as one of the most revered—and hated—Justices is enough to get most any job done.
When Vonvalt investigates the murder of a noblewoman, he finds his authority being challenged like never before. As the simple case becomes more complex and convoluted, he begins to pull at the threads that unravel a conspiracy that could see an end to all Justices, and a beginning to lawless chaos across the empire.
Cheeky Brat, Vol. 2 by Miyuki Mitsubachi | (Cheeky Brat #2) | Manga, Romance | Add to Goodreads
I, Yuki, have no intention of admitting it. Never. The last thing I will ever do is plead guilty to the crime of maybe possibly having a soft spot for my cheeky playboy of an underclassman—who’s an absolute brat—Naruse. Speaking of which, instead of focusing on his strange grade school rivalry with this Shizuka guy, he needs to get his head in the game and focus on our qualifiers…!! Maybe I was expecting too much from him, after all…
A Tale of the Secret Saint Vol. 1 by Touya and Mahito Aobe | Fantasy, Manga | Add to Goodreads
Born into a family of knights, Fia has always dreamed of following the path to knighthood too, except she’s the least talented of them all. On the day of her initiation test, a deadly injury prompts her life to flash before her eyes… and reveal her former life as a powerful Saint who defeated the Demon King in a bygone era! Her painful death as a Saint made her swear she’d never accept sainthood and its dangers again. But now, with her saintly power returned, Fia has the chance to be a more powerful knight than she’d ever dreamed — that is, if she can last long enough!

Lost Coast Literary by Ellie Alexander | Cozy Mystery | Add to Goodreads
Book editor Emily Bryant finds herself unexpectedly in the charming town of Cascata on California’s Lost Coast, holding the keys to her grandmother’s rambling Victorian mansion. While sorting through her grandmother’s things, Emily learns that she must edit old manuscripts to inherit the estate. It’s a strange request from a family member who was basically a stranger.
Emily quickly realizes that there’s something different about these manuscripts. Any changes she makes come true. At first, she embraces the gift. She has a chance to help characters find true love or chart a new course for their future. But then things go terribly wrong. Her edits have the opposite effect. The sweet and funky seaside community of Cascata is reeling from the chaos Emily has created. Everything she thought she believed about her family and her past is in jeopardy, and no amount of editing can fix the damage she’s done.
Then she finds one last manuscript. If Emily can get this edit right, maybe she’ll have a chance to create a new narrative for herself and everyone around her.
