Book Lovers Tag

I want to thank Newblogger20 for tagging me.  I fell so far behind and did not realize how much until I started this tag.  I was Tagged in June 2019.  Sorry, it has taken me so long to get it together.  If you have not checked out Newblogger20 you should head on over there. If you want to see how they answered these questions you can go here.

Rules:

  • Thank the blogger who nominated you and link back to their blog.
  • Include the Book-Lover Blog Tag graphic and rules in your post.
  • Answer the questions.
  • Nominate at least 5 new bloggers to do the tag.

What is your favorite thing about reading?

My favorite thing about reading is that it allows me to escape this world for another.  This allows me to relax and better deal with stress in my day to day life.

Which male character is your favorite?

I have to say I really like Thomas Cresswell from the Stalking Jack the Ripper series by Kerri Maniscalco.

Which female character is your favorite?

This one was much easier to come up with. Alexia Tarabotti from the Parasol Protectorate Series by Gail Carriger. The first book is Soulless and I highly recommend it.

Who is your favorite villain of all time?

Bellatrix Lestrange.  She did not become my favorite until I saw Helena Bonham Carter play her.

Who is your least favorite character of all time?

Sorry for the multiple Harry Potter references but I have to pick Dolores Unbrige.

Which book do you think has the strongest plot?

I am not a plot-driven person so I don’t know.

What gets on your nerves the most in a story (a boring character, an unrealistic plot, etc.)?

When the characters begin acting unrealistic or their personalities just completely change.

Which book has the best cover (share a picture!)?

Okay, so I had to pick three. Trust me it was hard to just stick to three.

Suitors and Sabotage by Cindy Anstey

The Strange Case of the Alchemist’s Daughter by Theodora Goss

Unnatural Magic by C.M. Waggoner

Do you let people borrow your books? If so, are you specific about how they treat them?

I only loan them to people that I trust.  LOL, I can only think of three people that I have loaned books out to in the past few years.

If a movie could be made based on any book, which book would you choose?

The Strange Case of the Alchemist’s Daughter by Theodora Goss

I would love to see this happen!

Which author has inspired you most?

So I can take this two different ways. 1) motivation/self-help type of books (non-fiction) or 2) an author that has inspired me to tell my own story (fiction).

  1. Rachel Hollis
  2. Gail Carriger

What single book would you be unable to live without?

Do I really have to pick only one…Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen

The Holiday Drinks Book Tag

Good Morning All,

Today we are doing The Holiday Drinks Book Tag.  I was tagged by the wonderful Consu @ The Paper Eyed Girl. If you have not checked her out I really urge you to do so.

1. Hot Chocolate: Marshmallows and chocolate and whipped cream, oh my! Recommend a book that’s sweet through and through.

A Holiday by Gaslight

I really loved this book.

2. Peppermint Mocha: The flavor of peppermint is strong and distinct. Recommend a book with a lot of strong emotions.

Eye of the World

3. Apple Cider: It’s so good it can’t be good for you, but it’s from apples—that means it’s healthy, right? Recommend a book full of characters with questionable morals.

And I Darken

4. Eggnog: It’s creamy and smooth, with a little spice, and some people even add alcohol to it. Recommend a book that’s mostly fun, with just a hint of danger.

The strange case of the Alchemists daughter

5. Gingerbread Latte: A drink with a veritable explosion of spices. Recommend a book with a lot of action.

The Final Empire UK

So I may have stretched a little on some of these. But I am sticking to them!

If you have not been tagged and want to do this consider yourself tagged.

3 Day Lyrical Challenge Christmas Edition – Day 3

I was tagged by the amazing Brittney @ Perfectly Tolerable to do the 3 Day Lyrical Challenge. Since I have done this before I am going to put a Christmas twist on this one and find Christmas songs.  This was more of a challenge than you would think because I usually only listen to instrumental Christmas music.

I wanted to end this on a fun note. My dad loved Jeff Foxworthy when I was growing up so this was something that I have heard over and over again.

Rules:

  • Thank the person who nominated you.
  • Share one of your favorite song/lyrics one at a time for three days.
  • Nominate three other bloggers each day.

Song: Redneck 12 Days Of Christmas -Jeff Foxworthy

woooo somebody done been to the Walmart

Man this is just the stuff I got for Christmas

Well you cleaned up watcha get?

5 flannel shirts,
4 big mud tires,
3 shotgun shells,
2 huntin’ dogs
and some parts to a Mustang GT

Youbo you got Jeff first 12 days of Christmas

I know that I got it covered look over there in the corner

that’s yours too?

yeah 12 pack of bud,
11 wrastlin tickets,
10 of Copenhagen
9 years probation,
8 table dancers,
7 packs of red man,
6 spam (woo)
5 flannel shirts,
4 big mud tires,
3 shotgun shells,
2 huntin’ dogs
And some parts to a Mustang GT

Man these ain’t normal Christmas Presents

Nah there redneck gifts

Redneck gifts?

Yeah you know like if you buy your wife
Earring that double as fishing hooks or if you can burp the entire chorus of Jingle Bells
Perhaps you think the Nutcracker is something you did off the high dive
Or if you’ve ever misspelled something in Christmas lights, or if you leave cold beer
And pickled eggs for Santa Claus

What’s wrong with that?

I didn’t say anythings wrong with its hard to beat 12 pack of bud
11 wrastlin’ tickets,
10 of Copenhagen,
9 years probation,
8 table dancers
7 packs of red man,
6 cans of spam,
5 flannel shirts,
4 big mud tires
3 shotgun shells,
2 huntin’ dogs,
and some parts to a Mustang GT

Well you know you can’t really consider it a Chrismas
Unless you go down to the penitentiary and visit ya momma

You’re not listenin to me get the car key outta your ear
That’s where the nine years probation comes in I’mma do it for you again, now listen
12 pack of bud,
11 wrastlin tickets,
10 of Copenhagen,
9 years probation,
8 table dancers
7 packs of red man,
6 cans of spam,
5 flannel shirts,
4 big mud tires,
3 shotguns shells
2 huntin’ dogs,
and some parts to a Mustang GT

Are you crying?

No its just my allergies

Happy Holidays everybody!

I am going to Tag anyone that wants to do this and put a holiday twist to it.

Song: Carol of the Bells – Celtic Woman

Hark how the bells,
Sweet silver bells,
All seem to say,
Throw cares away

Christmas is here,
Bringing good cheer,
To young and old,
Meek and the bold,

Oh how they pound,
Raising the sound,
O’er hill and dale,
Telling their tale,

Gaily they ring
While people sing
Songs of good cheer,
Christmas is here,

Merry, merry, merry, merry Christmas,
Merry, merry, merry, merry Christmas,
On on they send,
On without end,
Their joyful tone to every home
Dong Ding dong ding, dong Bong

I am going to Tag anyone that wants to do this and put a holiday twist to it.
