sunshine-blogger-award 7

The Rules

1. Thank the blogger who nominated you by linking their blog
2. Answer the questions
3. Nominate 11 blogs with 11 questions
4. List the rules as well as display the Sunshine Award logo on your post

The Questions:

What was the first ever book you’ve read?

The Christmas Kitten

Honestly I don’t know, the first book I remember reading is the Christmas Kitten by Virginia Holt.

What do you think about book-to-movie adaptions?

They scare me. They can either go really well or very badly.

Where do you usually read?

In bed or sitting in my desk chair.

Ebooks or physical copies?

Physical books.

What is your favorite genre?

Fantasy

Any bookish pet peeves?

I really can’t stand when books are modeled completely after a popular book. Just because it worked once does not mean every book needs to be the same.  I have nothing against using the same concept to make your story different. Make it yours.

How do you feel about people borrowing your books?

I only lend books to those people I really trust.  (Would I trust you with my child?)

What is the latest book you bought?

Eon by Alison Goodman

Do you decide prior which books you are reading every month?

Nope. TBR’s and I don’t get along.

Do you reread books? If yes, which is the last one you reread?

Yes. Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen

List some blog posts you’re really proud of!

Review: Etiquette & Espionage by Gail Carriger

Questions:

What/who inspired your blog?

Okay so this is a very long story and I am going to make it as short as possible. In July 2017 I found out I had diabetes in the worst possible way.  I was admitted to the ICU for 4 days.  When I walked into the building I had organs shutting down and there was a count down to how much longer I had left.  For the rest of that year my focus was taking care of myself and getting myself in a better place.  I lost a good bit of weight and we found that my levels were really good. So by the beginning of this year I wanted to do something for me, and since I do not like cameras a blog was chosen. As of today I am off most of the meds that I was on and I have about 10 more pounds to go and I may have beat that disaster.

What’s your favorite place to read?

I really like to read in my bed.  But lately I have been reading in my desk chair. (I’m not sleeping well so I don’t last very long in my bed)

What’s your favorite time of the day to review the books you read?

Morning. I have more focus in the in mornings because I don’t already have my hands in a dozen different things.

Coffee/Tea?

Tea (Hot Tea)

Favorite indie bookstore in your town/city?

Saddly we do not have one 😦

Best bookstore you’ve visited

Hardcover/Paperback?

Favorite season(s)?

What’s your opinion on giving a book a low rating/negative review?

Personally I would rather leave a book with no rating than leave a negative review. So much time and love is put into books by the authors that I feel bad for leaving one.  I have left them in the past and will most certainly will in the future.

I really enjoy giving reading updates (It’s Monday and WWW Wednesday) doing these posts always makes me feel accomplished.  Silly I know but I will take it.

Outlander by Diana Gabaldon. I DNF’d this book at 50% done.  I do not own the book anymore so I can not tell you want page I just know I was exactly halfway through.

This book is sold as this great Scottish love story with time travel.  What they do not tell you is all of the threats and attempts of rape and the abuse committed on the female lead.  What really got me was the female lead was just so accepting and it was okay because he made her a ring.
